Look Who's Coming to Dinner

It's the President.  Right here in Schenectady.  The White House has confirmed that the President will swoop in the to Electric City to take a tour of GE.  Yes! For real.  The GE plant that my great grandfather worked at, that my grandfather worked at and my dad worked at till they shipped his job down south.  The same one my great grandmother and my grandmother and my mom worked.  The one that was the lifeblood of this city and then turned out to be it's casket as the laid off most of their workforce. 

Everyone is a buzz about the visit hoping that he will tour other places within the city but I have a feeling the last place he wants to get out and see is this cesspool (and really with all the pollution that GE has done over the years it really can qualify as a cesspool---fish upstream from GE!).

I hope the President enjoys his trip to this fair city...and I hope that it gives us all a little hope that Schenectady can be something wonderful again...we can all dream can't we?
